At Hitchin IT Services we have always been a huge fan of Altec Lansing audio equipment for our computers and laptops. Many years ago, I used to travel back and forth to New York and was lucky enough to visit some of their computer stores in the City ( yes this does sound geeky) but in New York every large computer store had Altec Lansing speakers for PCs and the boxes were stacked from floor to ceiling. I bought my very first set for about £80 and the clarity was amazing compared to other makes I had previously tried. The speakers lasted about 7 years and gave me much pleasure before the remote control started to get problems. I instantly purchased a new set last year and found that they had got even better and the remote control is a real bonus. Recently we have spent a considerable amount of time looking around for the latest gadgets to go with Iphones and Itouch devices due to their huge demand. The latest and most impressive device is a single speaker to play your songs, The altec-orbit-m.
I bought it, tried it and loved it - comes with a case (see above) which means it doesnt get scratched to bit like all of my other equipment. The wire neatly clips away and it also arrived with a larger jack plug so that it can be used with other equipment (dont think it will get used though). I took it to cornwall and used it on the beach with a picnic and in the hotel room, again Altec Lansing had not let me down with the clarity and it still had great volume too. It was so small that I forgot to take it out my laptop bag when i returned and it stayed in their forgotten about for a week.
